The St. Louis Cardinals (65-65) found their way back to .500 on the season after successfully navigating the first leg of a challenging portion of their schedule. They will now return home to Busch Stadium to continue to take on playoff contending teams. The Cardinals will welcome the San Diego Padres for a four game series.

Monday, August 26th: Kyle Gibson vs. Randy Vásquez

The Cardinals will start the series with Kyle Gibson (7-5, 4.42) on the mound in the team's return to Busch Stadium. He is coming off a solid start against the Milwaukee Brewers where he allowed only two runs on seven hits across 5.1 innings of work. He picked up five strikeouts and walked two batters.

The Padres will go with Randy Vásquez (3-6, 4.63) in the first game of the series. He allowed three runs in his last outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates across 5.2 innings pitched. He has not done great on the road this season as he has a 6.08 ERA away from Petco Park.
