Latest Media Role Keeps Bill Belichick Firmly in Tom Brady’s Shadow

Bill Belichick may not have landed one of the seven open head-coaching jobs this offseason, but he’s accumulating sports media gigs faster than Tom Brady collected Super Bowls.

In addition to his recurring guest analyst role on “Inside the NFL” and “The Pat McAfee Show,” plus his weekly appearances on ESPN’s “ManningCast,” Belichick is also launching a new YouTube show with Underdog Fantasy called “Coach with Bill Belichick.”

But apparently four jobs weren’t enough as the former New England Patriots head coach added another role to his plate when it was announced he’d be replacing Brady as host of SiriusXM’s “Let’s Go!” podcast in 2024.

“I thank Tom for recommending me,” Belichick said in a release. “When the opportunity was presented by Jim (Gray) I said, ‘Let’s Go,’” Belichick said. “When people say, ‘Let’s Go!’ it conveys a sense of camaraderie and teamwork that all involved share the same goals and excitement. And that’s exactly how I feel to be joining the ‘Let’s Go!’ team at SiriusXM.”

Added Brady: “For 20 years I threw the ball for coach Belichick, now I am passing the microphone to him on ‘Let’s Go!’”

Many questioned Belichick's ability to win without Brady (he was 29-38 in four seasons after Brady left the Patriots), and now some are saying it's a bad look for Belichick to take the seven-time Super Bowl champion's hand-me-downs in the sports media space.

Regardless, Belichick joins an all-star cast that features Las Vegas Raiders edge-rusher Maxx Crosby, three-time National Sportswriter of the Year Peter King (formerly of Sports Illustrated and NBC Sports), plus Hall of Fame broadcaster Jim Gray.

Brady, who will still make guest appearances on the show, stepped away from full-time hosting duties to focus on his new gig as the lead NFL broadcast analyst for Fox this season.
