Noah Lyles Reveals Unexpected Plan To Work In Different Industry

U.S. Olympic track star Noah Lyles is still making waves after his standout performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. While his achievements on the track are impressive, his bold personality is what's grabbing attention right now.

Lyles has been a hot topic over the past year, not only for his speed but also for his outspoken comments. At Budapest's 2023 World Athletics Championships, he stirred up some controversy by saying that NBA champions shouldn’t be called world champions because they don’t represent their countries.

In Paris, Lyles was as confident as ever, declaring he’d win gold in each of his three events. Despite this, he tested positive for COVID-19 after winning the gold in the 100m final. He would then race and win bronze in the 200m with symptoms but couldn't compete in the 4x100m relay.

After the Olympics, Lyles made headlines again when he admitted he didn’t know Super Bowl champion Tyreek Hill or three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. Hill, recently named the NFL's top player, and Jokic, a four-time All-NBA first-team selection, are big names in the world of sports.

This time around, Lyles didn't call out another sport or come across as cocky. In an interview with Emily Orozco of Access Hollywood , he simply shared personal plans for the future, including working in a different industry.

When asked about his passion for fashion, Lyles shared he has hopes to build a clothing line:

"I truly wish to be able to put together my own fashion line, not actually sports-focused, but actually casual wear focused," he said.

Although he didn't specify a time period for when he plans to launch his casual wear clothing line, he stated what he will do when the time comes:

"Someday for sure... I've always believed that I'm one phone call away from the person I need to get in touch with," Lyles said with a smile on his face. "So one day, I'm going to figure out that phone call, and I'm going to make a call, and we're going to get that done."

Later in the interview, Orozco asked Lyles about the possibility of partnering with the popular singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams, who happens to have been collaborating recently on clothing lines with Adidas, Lyles' main sponsor. Perhaps Lyles might be interested in a "sports-focused" clothing line after all.

"I already know the person to call for that one," he stated. "That might happen a little quicker than we think."

While Lyles trains for the 100m and runs in the 4x100m relay, his true specialty is the 200m. Across all three events, he's garnered six world titles, four Diamond League Finals trophies, and three Olympic medals, which include two bronze and one gold.
