Browns Rookie Michael Hall Jr. Expected to Be Placed on Exempt List

Cleveland Browns rookie defensive lineman Michael Hall Jr. is expected to be placed on the NFL commissioner's exempt list on Tuesday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com . This move is a result of a domestic violence charge as Hall was arrested earlier this month following a dispute with his fiancé.

Although Hall was arrested, he quickly returned to practice with Cleveland and played in the Browns' two final preseason matchups. With the move expected to come tomorrow, Hall will not count towards the team's roster count and will not be able to participate in any football-related activities with the team.

The NFL will then conduct an investigation and determine if Hall Jr. is worthy of a suspension. Hall Jr. has yet to be convicted, as his next court date is Sept. 10, which is after Week 1 of the regular season when the Browns face the Dallas Cowboys.

Hall Jr. was selected by the Browns in the second round of the 2024 draft out of Ohio State and had impressed the team through training camp and the preseason. Now, Hall Jr. may not see the field with Cleveland or in the NFL as his case is investigated further.

While the move to the exempt list has yet to be officially announced, fans can expect more information and clarity in the coming days as the Browns have to finalize their 53-man roster by Tuesday.
