Paige Bueckers' Emotional Realization Ahead Of New Season

UConn superstar point guard Paige Bueckers is entering the new college basketball season on the heels of what was a tremendous campaign in 2023-24. The 5-foot-11 guard firmly established herself as one of the top players in the NCAA behind averages of a career-high 21.9 points on 53.0 percent shooting, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.2 steals, 1.4 blocks and 2.2 triples per game on a 41.6 percent clip.

There's understandably a lot of hype surrounding Bueckers this coming season as the Huskies look to make amends for last term's Final Four heartbreak at the hands of Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

At the same time, however, this is going to be Bueckers' final year with UConn. On Monday, the 22-year-old came to this bittersweet realization after seeing a post from the UConn Women's Basketball account on X, formerly Twitter.

Paige could not help but get a bit emotional.

"Last first day of school ever🥹" she wrote.

As she stated, this is going to be the last time in her life that Bueckers attends her first day of a new school year. As such, it isn't at all surprising that she got all sentimental about it.

Big things are ahead for Bueckers. After she completes what is expected to be an incredible NCAA swansong, the UConn guard will be headed to the pros. More than a few mock drafts have her going first overall in the 2025 WNBA draft, with a handful of teams already eyeing her as their potential next cornerstone superstar.
