Wow! NBA 2K Reveals Top Rating for Mavs' Luka Doncic

NBA 2K may not always have the most accurate stats, while sometimes missing on player likeness as well. The popular video game typically pins the tail on the proverbial donkey when assessing superstars, though.

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is a prime example of NBA 2K understanding the value of star players and following through with determining their ratings. This week, Doncic's rating in NBA 2K25 was officially revealed.

Last year, Doncic began with a 95 overall rating on NBA 2K24. However, following his most successful season, ending as a scoring champion, earning his fifth All-NBA First-Team selection, and an NBA Finals appearance with a Western Conference Finals MVP, NBA 2K gave Doncic a rating boost.

As Dallas fans await training camp, the next best thing for basketball-related entertainment besides playing an actual game is NBA 2K25, which will be released on Sept. 6.

Doncic leads the reigning Western Conference champions, with Kyrie Irving a formidable running mate. Irving's NBA 2K25 player model has a 92 overall rating.

The Mavs backcourt leads NBA 2K25 with the highest combined player ratings, as Doncic starts the video game's season with a 97 overall rating.

The NBA 2K22 cover athlete seeks another NBA Finals run but without the painful loss. Similar to 2K rating the Mavs superstar as the second-highest player model, Draft Kings holds Doncic in esteemed regard as second in odds to win MVP.
