Tony Jefferson's return to the NFL is proving to be a smart move for the Los Angeles Chargers . After a brief retirement, the former Baltimore Ravens safety has made a significant impact during the preseason, showcasing his skills and determination.

Jefferson, who spent last season with the New York Giants, joined the Chargers this offseason to compete for a spot in their defensive backfield. His performance in the preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys was impressive, as he recorded 14 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a sack, and two passes defended. This level of play is rarely seen outside of video games.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh praised Jefferson's outstanding performance, noting the depth of his contributions on the field. Jefferson credited the Chargers' training staff for helping him regain his physical form, which was evident in his ability to perform at a high level.

Harbaugh called it a "sensational game" for Jefferson during a post interview.

"A sack, forced fumble, two interceptions, [14] tackles. I've always had great respect for him, admiration for him and he played for my brother [in Baltimore]...it was great to see him do so well tonight."
