Storms delay beatdown at Target Field with Braves up 9-1 on Twins

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober had tossed a quality start in 11 straight games entering Monday night’s game at Target Field. That streak was snapped before he got the first out.

The Atlanta Braves jumped all over Ober on a ridiculously humid night, going single, walk, RBI single, home run to jump out to a 4-0 lead before Ober retired a batter.

The Twins got one back in the bottom-half of the inning when Manuel Margot, who doubled to lead off the inning, scored on a Jose Miranda sacrifice fly. But the Braves responded with five more runs — all with two outs — in the second thanks to another walk, two more doubles and another home run.

Strong storms moved in right before the home half of the second was slated to start, with Atlanta up 9-1 on the Twins.

The Twins say they're hoping the game will resume at around 8:40 p.m.
