Stephen Curry Not Good Enough for T-Mac?

    By Lance Roberson,

Stephen Curry has nearly done it all. Aside from winning four NBA championships and one NBA Finals MVP to boot, the Golden State Warriors superstar is the only unanimous MVP in league history and the all-time leader in 3-point shots made. However, Tracy McGrady left Curry off a list that included NBA legends.

What does the Warrior's Cornerstone franchise player have to do to receive the respect from the Hall of Fame scoring machine?

McGrady revealed his list of the best scorers of all time. His top five scorers in NBA history are Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Tracy McGrady, and Kevin Durant.

To exclude Curry from such a list seems irresponsible for a legend in the game. Although ego comes into play when making this list, McGrady is a Hall of Famer. What else does he need to prove? Admittedly, players typically include themselves on the list that they make. However, Curry ranks 30th all-time in points scored, within striking distance of Charles Barkley and Allen Iverson.

Where does McGrady fall on such a list to put himself over Curry?

McGrady scored 18,381 points throughout a 15-year NBA career, which is enough for 75th all-time throughout a 15-year NBA career. In fairness to McGrady, he weathered knee, shoulder, and back injuries, many of which cut seasons well short of the 82-game schedule, making for a remarkable effort to play for such a long time. However, the numbers speak for themselves.

Moreover, in 2004, to celebrate McGrady's greatness, he scored 13 points in 33 seconds against the San Antonio Spurs.

The bottom line is that Curry is statistically the better scorer than McGrady. McGrady deserves attention as one of the best scorers of all time, but ego aside, Curry has to be on such a list.
