Jordan Chiles’ Mom Sends Clear Message About Daughter’s Big Plan After Olympic Controversy

Despite being at the center of a full-blown Olympic controversy , fans have heard very little from U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles since she was stripped of her bronze medal from the individual floor exercise final.

Chiles has intentionally stayed away from the spotlight by going on a social media hiatus, thereby leaving fans with more questions than answers surrounding her current state.

Chiles, who initially had her final score in the floor final bumped up following a successful judges appeal, eventually got this decision reversed after the said appeal was deemed invalid. From third place, Chiles went all the way down to fifth, and was required to return her bronze medal in favor of Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu, who is now recognized as the rightful third-place finisher in the event.

Despite the shocking turn of events, however, Chiles is still expected to take part in the Simon Biles-led Gold Over America Tour. Also known as the GOAT Tour, the event will span across 30 cities in September and November. The tour/concert aims to showcase the incredible journeys Biles, Chiles and the rest of the US gymnastics team.

Biles herself recently confirmed that Chiles will still be part of the line-up, which is a notion that Jordan's own mom, Gina Chiles, appears to have confirmed as well.

On Monday, Gina shared a post by Inside Gymnastics Magazine on Instagram that highlights a fan's intention to "lose my voice cheering for [Jordan] at the GOAT tour."

Technically, Gina did not make an announcement here, but this is as good a confirmation as fans can get without an official statement in terms of Jordan's big plan after her Olympic controversy.

Chiles may have been cruelly stripped of her bronze medal, but she still has a gold from the team all-around final. Moreover, there's no denying that the 23-year-old is still the big winner in the hearts and minds of American fans, and they will get to prove this to her once the highly anticipated Gold Across America Tour kicks off.
