The Miami Marlins (47-84) have had their eyes on the future for quite some time now. Even with the unexpected playoff appearance in 2023, the organization knew that their time to truly contend had not arrived yet. Through a plethora of trades and high draft picks, the Marlins have built a solid farm system to develop toward the future.

In a recent article from Bleacher Report , Joel Reuter ranked MLB's top 25 prospects that are 20 years old or younger. The Marlins have two representatives on that list in pitchers Noble Meyer and Thomas White .

Here is Reuter on Meyer, who ranked 18th:

"With a projectable 6'5", 185-pound frame and electric present stuff, Meyer was the top prep pitcher in the 2023 draft class. The Marlins took him with the No. 10 overall pick, and he impressed early this season at Single-A before earning a promotion to High-A where he has struggled. He has a 4.11 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 65.2 innings overall, though his 17.1 percent walk rate speaks to the work he still needs to do refining his command."

Reuter on White, who ranked 15th:

"The Marlins walked away with what many viewed as the two best high school pitchers in the 2023 draft class when they took Noble Meyer at No. 10 overall and White at No. 35 overall on an above-slot deal. He might not have as high of a ceiling as Meyer, but White is off to a much better start to his pro career, posting a 2.72 ERA with 106 strikeouts in 86 innings between Single-A and High-A this season."

While Meyer has seemingly hit a wall in his development, White has done nothing but excel in his time in professional baseball.

Both pitchers do rank inside the top 100 prospects per MLB Pipeline , and project to be worthwhile MLB pitchers within the next few years.

With both pitchers being only 19, the Marlins should not rush their development, but let them make their way through each level of MiLB naturally to get the most out of each.

The future looks bright for the Marlins, and these two young arms are just the tip of the iceberg.
