The weekend of September 28 will be one of the biggest weekends of the entire fall for Alabama athletics. The Crimson Tide's head coach Kalen DeBoer and his first team in Tuscaloosa will welcome the preseason national title favorites, the Georgia Bulldogs, to Bryant-Denny Stadium for an SEC Championship rematch. That's just a part of the story.

On the hoops side, Nate Oats and the entire basketball coaching staff will be busy as can be, as two of the nation's premier prospects will be on their official visits to Alabama.

The No. 1 recruit in the 2025 cycle, A.J. Dybantsa, along with the No. 6 prospect in Meleek Thomas, have announced they will visit Tuscaloosa during this premier weekend.

Along with the Crimson Tide, Thomas will visit John Calipari and Arkansas while Dybantsa will be traveling to BYU, Baylor, North Carolina and Kansas throughout the fall.

Thomas is the No. 2 shooting guard in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Rankings and is being heavily pursued by Pittsburgh, UConn, and Auburn to go along with the Crimson Tide and Razorbacks. Out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Thomas is a part of Overtime Elite.

Dybantsa, who reclassified to the 2025 cycle, is a six-foot-nine forward who excels with his versatility to play any position on the court. Ranked as the unanimous No. 1 player in his class, Dybantsa will be playing his final high school season at Utah Prep.

The Crimson Tide currently owns zero commits in the 2025 recruiting cycle after finishing with the No. 2 ranked recruiting class overall in the 2024 class.
