New owner. New general manager. New head coach. New quarterback. And now, adding to a fresh season for the Washington Commanders, comes a new stadium. Well, at least a new name.

Putting yet another fresh coat of paint on their major organizational facelift, the Commanders have signed a multi-year naming rights agreement with Northwest Federal Credit Union. Beginning this season - Sept. 15 is the home opener against the New York Giants - Washington's home field will be called "Northwest Stadium."

The agreement reportedly runs through 2031, and exceeds the $7.5 million-per-season value of the team's previous naming rights contract with FedEx.

The shipping giant signed an agreement with Washington in 1999, but ended it two years early amidst the team's on- and off-field turmoil. While the Commanders haven't won a playoff game since 2005, former owner Daniel Snyder kept his club in the headlines for all the wrong reasons including allegations of sexual misconduct in the workplace.

Commanders' owner Josh Harris said before last weekend's preseason finale that the team is considering plans to build a new stadium and that 2030 is a realistic target.

Harris. Adam Peters. Dan Quinn. Jayden Daniels. And now, Northwest Stadium.
