Both Ja Morant and Zach Edey made headlines with their recent basketball workout. As most fans anticipate their pairing in the upcoming season for the Memphis Grizzlies, they finally showed some glimpses of what they could be with their promising pairing and instant connection already, highlighted by plenty of alley-oop plays and other two-man games.

From this training, another footage went public in which both Grizzlies stars practiced their range from beyond the arc.

Ja & Edey working on shooting

In a new video clip of their past workout, Morant and Edey were captured pulling up in a shooting drill.

From the three-point line at the elbow, the duo was on target in their long-range shots. This presents another significant development towards the skill set of both of them, most interestingly for Edey.

Edey, the 7-foot-4 giant from Purdue, never shot a three-pointer in his collegiate career until his senior year in which he went 1-of-2 from downtown. As such, his attempts and sinking of treys on the footage couldn't be more intriguing considering his back-to-basket play style.

As for Ja, his progress continues in shooting the ball in which he holds a career 31.8 percent rate from threes across five seasons.

    Shoot your shots

Shooting has been the focal issue of the Grizzlies as a group for nearly 20 years. The team hasn't cracked the league's Top 10 three-point shooting leaderboard in each season since 2006-07. Memphis was second to the dead last in the past season in terms of accuracy from treys, draining an awful 34.6 percent per 37.8 attempts average per game.

For this concern, it's encouraging that Morant and Edey have considered shooting in their shared workout. Aside from the dynamics we are looking forward to in both of them, we can only hope they'll enter the season helping the team in its shooting woes.
