Francisco Lindor is playing some of the best baseball of his career. This is his third straight great season for the Mets. However, due to Lindor’s famously large contract, the narrative for a while has been that he is extremely overpaid.

Mets fans see Lindor’s worth to the team every single day. It seems like the national media is finally starting to catch on too. Lindor has basically forced the media to change its tune on how it speaks about him. There is now no way of denying his value.

The star shortstop was just named National League Player of the Week. For the week, Lindor had a .345 average with three home runs, 6 RBI and a 1.180 OPS.

Both leagues’ Player of the Week awards went to New York this week. Aaron Judge won ALPOTW. The winners could be the MVP winners too.

Lindor has the best OPS+ of his career. He leads all of the NL in WAR. Lindor has upped his game during the stretch run. August has been a remarkable month for him.

The 30 year old is slashing .333/.377/.576. Those numbers mean he has an OPS of .953. In August, Lindor has 33 hits in 23 games. He has only gone hitless twice.

It's remarkable what Lindor has been able to do this season. His monthly OPS has improved every single month. Lindor is one of only four MLB players to have had such constant improvement.

Lindor is doing everything he can for the Mets. He deserves all the accolades possible for his role in trying to will the Mets into a playoff spot.
