The Texas A&M Aggies are just five days away from kicking off the season with one of the biggest games on the slate when they host Notre Dame at Kyle Field .

It's not an ideal situation for a team that is beginning a new era with an entirely new coaching staff to begin the season with a great team rather than the usual cupcake week one game.

With that being said, the Aggies feel like they are ready. Junior offensive tackle Trey Zuhn III spoke to the media as game week got underway and said that he feels like the team is fully prepared heading into the matchup.

"I think they've got some great guys on Notre Dame on their front, but there's nothing that we can't do without just film study and going against our own guys," Zuhn III said . "We have probably the best D-line. I think we have the best D-line in the country. I think going against them will be nothing different. I think we're prepared for that."

Zuhn III would go on to say the fact that the Aggies knew they had such a quality opponent coming into town for the first game helped keep the team motivated through fall camp.

"I want to say that we would prepare the same for anybody. But yeah, having Notre Dame, definitely a big name, a really good team, has definitely kept people sharp," he said . "It gets to that part of fall camp when everyone's tired, everyone's feeling a little hurt, a little bumped and bruised. Just knowing that you have that great team that's coming in here first game, it's just that little extra boost that, 'hey we need to get our stuff right. We need to get it right quick.'"
