The Cincinnati Reds are frequent fliers on the Injured List at this point in the season. The rotation has been nuked with injury after injury and based on the moves made on Tuesday, it's not getting much better.

Nick Lodolo is headed to the 15-day IL with a left middle finger strain, reto to August 24. Additionally, righty Casey Legumina has been recalled and lefty Brandon Williamson will finally get to start a rehab assignment in Triple-A Louisville.

This is Lodolo's fourth time on the IL this year. From March 27 through April 13, Lodolo was on the IL with left calf tenosynovitis. Then, from May 15 through May 27, he was shut down with a left groin string. Then, he spent June 25 through July 9 on the IL with a left finger blister.

He has never been able to get going in 2024. In total, Lodolo has made 21 starts and he owns a 4.76 ERA thanks to a pair of eight-run outings over the last month.

There have been some starts when Lodolo looked like the pseudo-ace he could be. In his last start, Lodolo was going punch-for-punch with Paul Skenes but imploded in the fifth.

Additionally, Legumina is back. Last season, Legumina appeared in 11 games (12 1/3 innings) and posted a 5.68 ERA. This year, he's only made two appearances. In those appearances, he's allowed six runs off eight hits and a walk over four innings.

Finally, Williamson is set to get back to pitching. He has not pitched with the Reds this season. He made one start at High-A Dayton before jumping to Triple-A Louisville. There, he made three starts and allowed just one run over 10 2/3 innings before being shut down with that left shoulder strain.
