Browns Give 2-Word Statement on QB Situation Amid Trade Rumors

The Cleveland Browns kept all four of their quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster but that might not be the case for long.

Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Tyler Huntley are all currently on the active roster following the 4 pm ET deadline.

When asked if the situation would remain the same when Week 1 arrives, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski offered a brief and somewhat cryptic response.

    "We'll see," Stefanski said.

The Browns were taking calls on Winston and Huntley before the deadline, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Thompson-Robinson was also shopped earlier this offseason. A trade never came to pass, but it could still happen.

“It's the first 53. It's not the final 53. So, I'm sure there's moves to be made down the line here," Stefanski said. "Sometimes it does come down to a numbers game."

The Browns' numbers are a little skewed right now. Cleveland is carrying four quarterbacks but just two running backs: Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr.

The Browns made a surprising move on Tuesday by terminating D'Onta Foreman's contract. However, many believe Foreman could eventually return to the roster once the team resolves its roster situation. Nick Chubb and Nyheim Hines will eventually be in the mix but are both out until at least Week 5 as they continue to work their way back from injury.

Another position that needs to be addressed is tight end. Jordan Akins and Pro Bowler David Njoku are currently the only tight ends on the roster.

The Browns kick off the season on September 8 against the Dallas Cowboys.
