Shedeur Sanders Rejects 2028 Olympics Idea Even Before He Gets Invite

Flag football will be included in the Olympic Games for the first time in the event's history when Los Angeles hosts the Summer Games in 2028.

While American Flag Football League and NFL professionals make sense to make up the roster, college football players should be given an opportunity to make the team as well.

Those details have yet to be set in stone, yet Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders made his thoughts clear on the latest episode of his podcast “2Legendary.”

Sanders answered with a simple "no" when asked if he would participate. All things considered, his reasoning behind the answer is perfectly reasonable.

“Cause, bruh, you could get injured,” Sanders said.

There is the potential of winning a gold medal for your country, though, but to Sanders, the possibility of suffering a serious injury and derailing his future career is too much of a risk.

“I don’t like that bro," Sanders said. "And you just had a full season."

Sanders will be one of the most studied quarterbacks over the course of the 2024 college football season. The senior passed for 3,230 yards with 27 touchdowns to three interceptions in his first season with the Buffaloes in 2023. A stellar performance this year could vault him to the top of NFL draft boards next spring.

Colorado will open the season at home against North Dakota State on Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. ET (ABC).
