Utah's Brant Kuithe Hints At New Identity For Utes In 2024

Utah's offense has established a run-first style that has been pretty successful in recent years despite not having a marquee running back.

However, one of the biggest questions fans and pundits had during the offseason was how the offensive approach would evolve with the receiving room undergoing a drastic improvement.

Thanks to the transfer portal, the Utes added 2022 All-Pac-12 receiver Dorian Singer from Arizona/USC and Syracuse's leading receiver, Damien Alford, a 6-foot-6 unit. They also return star tight end Brant Kuithe who missed all of last year with an injury.

Quarterback Cam Rising was quoted earlier in fall camp saying that he hopes for at least a "51%" pass mark, but would prefer "60, 70, 80%."

In the last interview session before Thursday's game against Southern Utah University, veteran tight end Brant Kuithe hinted at Utah's offense being a more pass-heavy product.

"I don't think we're going to be running as much, but that's good for me," Kuithe said.

Even the defense sang the praises of the offensive unit when asked what they were most excited about for the 2024 season.

"I'm excited about our offense... They've done nothing but make us better," Karene Reid said.

"This receiver room is looking dangerous for sure," he continued.

While it is yet to be seen how much the passing game will be a factor when it comes to game time, fans will be hoping for fireworks no matter how they are produced, and of course, earning a win in the process is never a bad thing either.
