Simone Biles Turns Heads With Stunning Admission About Olympic Performance

Simone Biles is the most-decorated gymnast of all-time.

In fact, she wins so often that when her name is listed anywhere other than in first place on the scoreboard, it seems to throw everything else off.

And while greatness is what people have to expect from Biles, she recently opened up in a one-on-one interview with former Olympian Aly Raisman for Olympics.com about the kind of pressure that puts on her shoulders.

“I think what I’ve come to the conclusion of is there are such high expectations on me that I’m supposed to win,” Biles said . “So whenever I do win or get whatever medal that is, I feel a relief off my shoulders like, 'I did it, I’m done, let’s move on to the next.'

“I know I put the hours in and I know I put the work in, but it’s like, ‘OK, thank God that’s over,’ and people won’t have to talk or have Twitter fingers.”

Even if people are talking on social media, it’s not like there’s much they can knock Biles for these days.

Competing in three separate Olympic Games, she’s compiled a nice medal collection of seven gold, two silver and two bronze, and her 41 combined medals (11 Olympic, 30 World Championship) are more than any other gymnast ever.

Biles dominated the 2024 Paris Olympics, claiming gold in the team final, the individual all-around final and vault, and she earned silver in the floor exercise.

She’s just two gold medals away from tying Larisa Latynina’s Olympics record of nine, and her 11 total medals are the most ever by a U.S. gymnast and tied for the second-most all-time with Vera Caslavska.
