Bruins' David Pastrnak Breaks Silence On Offseason Additions

Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak attended the NHL's European tour in mid-August as reported by The Athletic's Michael Russo .

Fresh off a productive summer that included time in the gym as well as his wedding to longtime girlfriend Rebecca Rohlsson, Pastrnak talked to Russo and he showed his enthusiasm for the Bruins' recent offseason additions via free agency as the franchise aims to make a deep postseason run next season.

"Nikita (Zadorov), who is a big defenseman, I can’t wait to see him lay out some big hits this season," Pastrnak said. "He seems like a perfect fit for the Bruins. And Elias (Lindholm) is a very good two-way centerman, which obviously the Bruins have had some pretty good two-way centermen. Elias scored 40 goals one year, too, so we know he can score."

Pastrnak himself had an impressive 47-goal, 63-assist season in 2023–24, and he will now share the ice with former Vancouver Canucks players Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm.

Known initially as more of a playmaker, Pastrnak has become one of the league’s top goal-scorers taking on a larger role to produce points and putting the puck inside the net with the Bruins of late.

“My transfer to goal scorer (in the NHL) was surprising at first,” Pastrnak said. “I’m very grateful. It’s hard to score in this league, so I don’t take it for granted. Last year, I was more playmaker and shot way less than previous years, but that was just the way our team was built last year.”
