The 2023 campaign was a forgettable one for Utah football. Injuries and underwhelming play led to a season that was a far cry from years past, and a big part of the lackluster output was the absence of Cam Rising.

However, with the veteran's much-awaited return to the field upon us, fans and players are excited about this season's potential with the undisputed team leader back under center.

Team captain Junior Tafuna expressed his joy regarding the current state of the team in the last practice interview session before the Southern Utah University game on August 29th.

"It's going to be just like old times, I can't wait to hear bad moon rising, and when you hear that you know it's going to be a good time," Tafuna said.

The Utah faithful, fans, players, and alumni alike are hoping that his statement holds true and the old times return in 2024. Meanwhile, pundits are expecting the old times to return as they have been high on the Utes throughout the entire offseason, projecting them to not only win the Big 12 in the program's inaugural campaign but also to make it far in the college football playoff.
