Could Browns Be Interested In Former Super Bowl-Winning Receiver?

As the Cleveland Browns continue to make moves to build their roster, could they be interested in former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Kadarius Toney?

The former No. 20 overall pick of the New York Giants back in 2021 was released by the two-time defending Super Bowl champions on Tuesday.

Toney struggled with drops last season, and when the Chiefs re-signed JuJu Smith-Schuster last week, it cleared the way for Kansas City to release him.

Earnest Horn of Browns Nation suggests that the team should consider signing the beleaguered receiver.

"Should the Browns be in the market for more wide receiver help to aid quarterback Deshaun Watson?” Horn queried. “If the team is targeting help at that position, one athlete the Browns could look into is two-time Super Bowl-winning wide receiver Kadarius Toney."

Toney has elite-level speed and could be an interesting pickup. He can also return punts and kickoffs, and with his speed could pose a serious threat with the new kickoff rules.

The Browns have a good receiver corps already, but a guy like Toney could make things interesting for Cleveland.

Cleveland will play host to the Dallas Cowboys to open the regular season at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sept. 8 in the FOX NFL Game of the Week.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET.
