Cowboys Signing Dalvin & Lawson To P-Squad; Full List

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys' 53-man roster is never quite "final,'' as we often say, and the same goes for the always-flexible practice squad. But as of Wednesday evening, by the time Dallas makes its planned moves?

Two rather stellar names will occupy the P-Squad, which generally speaking allows for 16 bodies and is often made up of young prospects. In this year's case, at this time, Dallas has an exemption for Denzel Daxon as an (International Pathway Program) player, moving the number to 17.

And what else is "moving'' here? Headlines. ...

Because in addition to the guys who are often recently-cut kids who the Cowboys are bringing back into The Star, two more notable names are going to be a part of this thing.

That would be running back Dalvin Cook and defensive end Carl Lawson.

Cook, as we write this, is unofficial, but he has agreed to come aboard with the expectation (his) that he will eventually be moved up to the varsity.

Lawson is official and figures to be practicing on Wednesday here at The Star after what amounts to a day off.

Both guys are 29 and have skins on the wall. ... and want to use this as a stepping stone. But for now, they are short of the 53-man roster and joined by this crew ...
