Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has always been a bit unconventional when it has come to roster construction.

Even when it comes to building up the practice squad for the team heading into the new year.

Philadelphia announced the arrival of the 17-man practice squad Wednesday and brought in two tight ends to the group to compete for the coveted third spot that will be on the field most likely on gamedays.

The two tight ends? Undrafted free agent E.J. Jenkins, and former Eagle Jack Stoll.

Jenkins had a very strong preseason and camp for the Birds and even was a surprise release by the team on Tuesday. By being brought back to the practice squad, it's a sign that the team believes he can be a solid contributor to the offense in the long run.

    Then there is Stoll.

Originally looking for a bigger role with the New York Giants, Stoll was released and searching for a new home over the last 24 hours. By coming back to Philadelphia, the 2021 UDFA should be considered as the blocking tight end of the entire group for the team.

Time will tell which tight end the Eagles value enough to put on the active roster eventually this year, but it appears a new position battle has opened up for the organization.
