Aaron Rodgers saw his 2023 season come to an end as soon as it began, but it was enough for one anonymous NFL coach to determine that the New York Jets quarterback is cooked.

Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles tear just four plays into the team's season-opening win over the Buffalo Bills last season. Though Rodgers flirted with the idea that he could return to the field late in the season, he ultimately spent the rest of the season sidelined and rehabbed through the offseason.

As Rodgers plans to take the field again for the Jets to start the 2024 season, an NFL coach is offering some candid criticism. The Athletic's Mike Sando shared the coach's blunt assessment of Rodgers: "He looks old."

“You go back and watch those first four plays before he got hurt, he did not look good," the coach said. "He looks old. If they can’t protect him and they can’t run the football, it’ll be just what you saw late stages in Green Bay. He became ineffective. I’m looking at what he is, not who he is.”
