DiJonai Carrington Bluntly Calls Out Nasty Indiana Fever Fans

Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington didn’t hold back after her team’s tough loss to the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night, Aug. 28, leaving some harsh words for the opposing fans.

The Fever's fanbase has been growing rapidly as a result of drafting Caitlin Clark with the first overall pick last April. Clark has been nothing short of amazing in her rookie season, quickly becoming a top contender for Rookie of the Year and leading the WNBA in assists.

In Wednesday's game, Carrington scored 19 points for the Sun, but despite her performance, they lost 84-80. Meanwhile, Clark scored 23 points, grabbed five rebounds, and made five assists. She also broke the WNBA rookie record for most 3-pointers made in a season.

Carrington's frustration with the Fever fans started when she made a big shot and shushed the crowd. However, her moment was short-lived, as Clark quickly responded by dribbling down the court and sinking a shot over Carrington in the paint. This video has been circulating on social media.

After the game, Carrington took to X to let everyone know exactly how she feels about the Fever’s fans:

"the Indiana fever have the nastiest fans in the W. ew.," she posted.

Carrington is currently in her fourth year in the WNBA after being drafted 20th overall by the Sun in 2021. She started her college career at Stanford and later transferred to Baylor. This season, she currently averages 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

The Sun's 22-8 record would make them the third seed if the playoffs started today. But with 10 regular-season games left, they’re focused on finishing strong and securing their spot in the postseason.
