Lynx's Strong Napheesa Collier Declaration Will Get Aces Fans Going

The Minnesota Lynx scored their seventh consecutive win on Wednesday after pummeling the Phoenix Mercury, 89-76.

It was another all-around effort for the Lynx, with Kayla McBride putting up 19 points, five rebounds and three assists and Courtney Williams adding 16 points, five assists, and two steals. Napheesa Collier chipped in 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

While Collier has had gaudier numbers, her consistent all-around performance throughout the season has placed her firmly in the MVP conversation. She has led the Lynx to the second-best record in the WNBA at 23-8.

After beating the Mercury, the Lynx made a strong declaration about Collier on X.

"Phee's the best in the west," the tweet said, accompanied by a video of Collier's highlights.

The 27-year-old forward has truly emerged as a dominant force in the league. Her impact is evident not just in the statistics, but in the leadership she brings as well.

The Lynx's bold proclamation, however, may not sit well with Las Vegas Aces fans, especially since A'ja Wilson is a two-time champion, two-time MVP, one-time Finals MVP, and two-time Defensive Player of the Year.

She also recently dropped a season-high 42 points, the third 40-point special of her career.

The Aces are currently in fifth place with an 18-12 slate.

But Collier, a four-time All-Star, isn't too shabby at all. This season, she's averaging 20.8 points and career-highs of 9.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals.

Her ability to excel in crucial moments has also turned many games in the Lynx’s favor, showcasing her improved poise.

If they maintain their momentum in the next few games, the Lynx could quickly lock up the top seed in the West.
