Golden State Warriors fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Following an offseason that included peculiar social media activity and uncharacteristic comments from Stephen Curry, the four-time NBA champion signed a contract extension with the Warriors.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski , Curry signed a one-year, $62.6 million extension with the Warriors on Thursday.

The NBA's all-time leader in 3-point shots made surpasses $500 million in league earnings, joining the legendary company of LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Curry is on the heels of a historic performance in the Paris Olympics, in which he scored 60 points in the final two games, leading Team USA to its fifth consecutive gold medal. The Warriors superstar point guard won his first and likely last gold medal as a player.

However, before the champagne shower in Paris, the Warriors experienced a Play-In Tournament knockout at the hands of the Sacramento Kings. Following the 2023-24 season's conclusion, in which the Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks for the NBA championship, Golden State's original big three broke up.

"Splash Brother" Klay Thompson signed with the Dallas Mavericks, leaving the Warriors to pick up the pieces of one of the franchise's most beloved members.

Despite such a loss, Curry will remain with the Warriors at least until the end of the 2026-27 season. Due to the over-38 rule, Golden State could offer only a one-year extension.
