Theories are already popping into NBA fans' minds following Stephen Curry's extension with the Golden State Warriors.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Curry agreed to a one-year deal worth 62.6 million that will keep him under contract through the 2026-27 season.

Curry, two years removed from his fourth NBA title, averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds on 45% shooting from the field and 40.8% from beyond the arc. Despite Golden State missing the playoffs, he made up for that lost time by teaming up with LeBron James and Kevin Durant on Team USA for the Paris Olympics, winning gold in the process as he delivered a remarkable performance in the fourth quarter of the final.

Curry is being paid a combined $115.4 million over the next two seasons before the extension kicks in. What makes this news more interesting is that James would be a free agent after 2025, 2026 at the latest if he accepts his player option with the Lakers. By the 2026 offseason, James will be 41 while Curry would be 38.
