Sherrone Moore is diving headfirst into the challenges of being the new head coach of Michigan football . With a significant overhaul of the roster and coaching staff, he faces immense pressure to maintain the program's recent success.

Moore has taken over a team that lost 77% of last season's starters, including the winningest quarterback in school history and the all-time leader in rushing touchdowns.

He steps into the role after a season marked by controversy and potential NCAA sanctions, following the departure of his predecessor.

At the recent Big Ten Media Days, Moore made it clear that he isn't looking for any leniency in his first year.

He is focused on winning and has high expectations for the upcoming season. His ambition is to continue the winning tradition at Michigan, aiming for another conference title and a championship banner.

“... No, there’s no honeymoon year,” Moore replied . “We’re just ready to attack. All my life I’ve been a competitor. I’ve wanted to win, and I’ve tried to win everywhere we’ve been. There’s no time off, ‘Let’s take a step back.’ That’s not our goal.

“We know what we want to do, we know how we want to attack it and we’re hungrier than ever.”

However, the statistics paint a daunting picture. Under the previous coach, Michigan averaged 13.3 wins over the last three seasons, a record unmatched in the program's history.

Since 2015, the team has averaged nearly 10 wins per season, the highest in its history. This year, Moore's squad must navigate a challenging schedule, including four ranked opponents, while also replacing 13 players who were drafted.

Moore's expectations are ambitious, especially considering the significant talent loss. He aims to keep the winning momentum going, but the reality is that he is stepping into a situation with a lot of uncertainty, including a quarterback room with limited experience.

Despite the challenges, Moore is determined to meet the high standards set by the program.

He is aiming for at least nine wins, including victories over ranked teams, and anything less than a Big Ten championship may not satisfy him.

As the season opener against Fresno State approaches, the pressure is on for Moore to deliver results quickly.
