Philadelphia Eagles cornerback James Bradberry has had his fair share of obstacles and adversity in the past year. Many believed the former All-Pro would be cut or traded as the team pruned their roster to 53 on Tuesday.

Instead, the Eagles kept Bradberry, but on Wednesday more adversity was heaped upon the beleaguered cornerback.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Bradberry had suffered a lower leg injury.

"Eagles veteran DB James Bradberry suffered a lower leg injury during yesterday’s practice, sources tell me," Rapoport wrote on his official X account. "Although surgery is not required, the injury involves a tendon and recovery time for an injury of this nature is approximately 6-8 weeks."

You almost have to feel bad for Bradberry. With all he has been through, this was the last thing he needed this year.

That means the Eagles will start the season down both Bradberry and Sydney Brown, leaving them shy headed into the season, with more responsibility heaped on guys including rookies Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.

The Eagles are preparing to open the season in the first ever NFL game played in South America as they travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil to take on the Green Bay Packers.

That game will be played on Friday, Sept. 6 and kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EDT.
