Conor McGregor Teases UFC Return Date With Single Emoji

Conor McGregor's long-awaited return to the octagon will have a date — soon.

While live on Instagram, UFC CEO Dana White said that news regarding McGregor's long-awaited return is imminent.

“We talked about Conor today. Conor news coming up, we’ve got Oliveira news coming up,” White said. “We’ve got Chandler news coming up. We’ve got Max Holloway news coming up. All that good [expletive]. Coming soon.”

McGregor responded to White's statement on social media with a single emoji.

McGregor has not fought in the UFC since 2021 — a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in which he broke his leg. He has just one win on his resume since 2016.

"Notorious" was originally slated to fight Michael Chandler in June, but the fight was scrapped after McGregor suffered a broken toe while training.

"This is the way it goes. And from here on, I’m not going to talk about it until (McGregor) is healed and he’s right," White said after the fight was announced. "Then we’ll look at the landscape and see what we can figure out."

It's unknown if Chandler would still be McGregor's opponent. Chandler is one of the UFC's most exciting fighters but has been patiently awaiting his fight with McGregor. The 38-year-old Chandler hasn't fought in the octagon since November of 2022, when he lost to Poirier by submission.

“I am running my own race, and I’m continuing to move forward,” Chandler said earlier this month. “I am at the point now where we are looking at all of the options and not just fighting Conor. Things move fast, and the phone could ring at any time."
