Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Calls Out Jerry Jones Amid Contract Talks

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott doesn’t worry about Jerry Jones’ sometimes vague or misleading comments to the media.

Prescott is entering the final year of his contract, and the Cowboys are currently negotiating an extension they hope to have done before the start of the season.

The quarterback isn't too concerned about what Jones says publicly about the talks.

“I stopped, honestly, listening to things (Jerry Jones) says to the media a long time ago. It doesn’t really hold weight with me," Prescott told reporters on Thursday.

The comment from Prescott comes a day after Jones talked about what he has to "see" from his quarterback amid the talks.

“You could easily say, if you haven’t seen it by now, you haven’t seen it," Jones said. "Dak’s situation right now, for me, has more to do with our situation than it does with the merits of Dak Prescott being the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.”

Prescott topped the NFL in completions (410) and touchdown passes (36) last season, amassing 4,516 passing yards. Prescott finished second in MVP voting.

His big bugaboo has been his playoff performances. Prescott is just 2-5 in playoff games. The Cowboys haven't made it to the NFC Championship since 1995.
