How Can Eagles Replace James Bradberry At Safety?

The Philadelphia Eagles had been looking to find ways out of James Bradberry's current contract and roster standing over the last month.

Now, it seems the two are stuck with each other for at least the first half of the 2024 season. Bradberry's leg injury suffered in practice Thursday has placed him on IR and out for the team for the next six to eight weeks.

Just two years removed from signing a three-year, $38 million deal, a career-worst season in 2023 along with this current injury has left Bradberry on a team looking to get rid of him.

With him hurt for the next couple of months, though, the Eagles have to take stock of their safety position.

Bradberry made the team's 53-man roster as essentially the team's fourth safety behind the likes of C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Avonte Maddox, and Reed Blankenship. Tristin McCollum and Sydney Brown are other players at the position who were competing with Bradberry for the same roster spot as well.

Looking at the current depth chart, it might not be considered a bad thing that Bradberry might not be available for the start of the season.

It'll at least allow the young safety room to continue to get more room and experience with each other going into the new year to start.
