Dalvin Cook Sends Bold 4-Word Message on Signing With Cowboys

Dalvin Cook is confident he has plenty left in the tank and can be a game-changing force for the Dallas Cowboys.

Cook signed with the Cowboys' practice squad after a workout on Tuesday.  He's not far removed from being a Pro Bowl talent. Cook rushed for 1,173 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2022 as a member of the Minnesota Vikings.

After signing with the New York Jets in free agency last year, Cook had a rough run with a limited workload. He rushed for just 214 yards on 67 carries over 15 games. After being released late in the year, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens but wasn't much of a contributor during their playoff run.

Cook spoke to the media on Thursday and is setting a high bar for himself.

"I still got it," Cook said.

The expectation is that Cook won't be on the practice squad for long and will join a backfield that includes Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle and Deuce Vaughn.

“I’m gonna be ready to go," Cook said. "My resume speaks for itself."

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is thrilled to have Cook in the mix and has admired him from afar.

"Well, Dalvin is someone we all have an appreciation for his career," Jones said Wednesday. "He's in good shape. He'll get a lot more work. He will learn the system as he goes and he could really help us out this year."

The Cowboys open the regular season on September 8 against the Cleveland Browns.
