ESPN's 'College GameDay' Makes Big Lee Corso Announcement for Week 1

ESPN's "College GameDay" is heading to College Station on Saturday to preview one of the biggest games of Week 1—No. 7 Notre Dame vs. No. 20 Texas A&M. The big question college football fans are asking is whether Lee Corso will be there to make yet another headgear selection.

Corso, 89, has reduced his role in ESPN's premier college football pregame show in recent years. Over the last several seasons, the former coach has missed several "College GameDay" episodes due to health reasons. ESPN has responded by bolstering its lineup, adding Pat McAfee to the show in 2023, with former Alabama head coach Nick Saban joining this season and beyond.

However, Corso's days on "College GameDay" aren't over just yet. Despite missing the show's Week Zero episode in Ireland—the neutral-site location for Florida State vs. Georgia Tech—the longtime analyst is making the trip to College Station.

Corso will make his 414th headgear pick on Saturday, choosing between the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies.

Cole's GameDay Blog has tracked all of Corso's headgear selections over the years. According to the data, Corso has gotten 66.4 percent of his headgear picks correct, boasting 275 wins compared to 139 losses.

Getting to watch Corso make his college football predictions alongside Saban will be a treat for fans. Tune in to "College GameDay" at 9 a.m. ET, and be sure to check back around 11:45 a.m. ET to catch Corso's game predictions and headgear pick.
