The Philadelphia Phillies entered the seventh inning down one run and into the Atlanta Braves bullpen. Having struggled to hit the long ball of late, the Phillies were trying to string some hits together to tie the game. Nick Castellanos thought that was taking too long.

Coming to the plate with Trea Turner at third and two outs in the bottom of the seventh with the Phillies trailing 4-3, Castellanos would take Braves reliever Grant Holmes to straightaway center for a two-run home run that gave the Phillies a 5-4 lead.

Castellanos would step to the plate needing just a single to tie the game. He would fall behind in the count 0-1 on a first-pitch foul tip on a four-seam fastball on the inner-third of the plate. Castellanos would get another fastball on the next pitch, but it caught much more of the plate and Castellanos took it to straightaway center field to give the Phillies a 5-4 lead.

It would be the 19th home run of the season for Castellanos, and it would come just one inning after Brandon Marsh would bring the Phillies within one with a home run of his own.

The Phillies struggled through the first five innings, only tallying two hits against Braves starter Charlie Morton. They would, however, draw four walks off Morton and one hit by pitch, but nothing would come of those runners.

Tonight is the first game of a four-game weekend series between the Phillies and Braves. The Phillies entered today with a five-game lead over the Braves for the National League East division lead.
