The Philadelphia Phillies have not had the best luck against the Atlanta Braves and their starter Charlie Morton tonight. Despite drawing four walks and being hit by a pitch once, the Phillies were held scoreless through the first five innings. Brandon Marsh said enough is enough.

After a leadoff single from Nick Castellanos and a one-out single from J.T. Realmuto , Marsh would come to the plate with two on and one out with the Phillies down 4-0. Two pitches later, the score would be 4-3.

Marsh was facing Morton for the third time tonight, having struck out twice to the righty already. After getting ahead in the count 1-0 on a first-pitch curveball, Marsh would see another curveball, but Morton left it hanging and Marsh would not miss it driving it into the seats in left field for a three-run home run.

It was Marsh's 14th home run of the season.

Cristopher Sanchez made the start for the Phillies tonight, only getting through 5 2/3 innings. He allowed four runs, only two were earned, on eight hits and one walk while striking out eight.

The Phillies struggled with Braves starter Charlie Morton, despite the multiple walks. Including the home run, the Phillies were only able to tally five hits against the veteran through 5 2/3 innings.

Morton would retire the next batter, Austin Hays , before being pulled for lefty reliever Aaron Bummer to face Kyle Schwarber .

Morton allowed three runs, all earned, on five hits and four walks while striking out seven.

Tonight is the first game of a four-game series. The Phillies entered with a five-game lead over the Braves for the National League East division.
