The Colorado Buffaloes took on the NDSU Bison on Thursday night and started their season with a 31-26 victory. Superstar Travis Hunter stole the spotlight though as he had a monster performance in Week 1.

Hunter, who plays wide receiver and cornerback, proved to be the best player on the field for Colorado. He pulled through on both sides of the ball, making him one of the most unique NFL prospects in college right now.

After making multiple highlight plays, sports fans couldn't help but be amazed by Hunter's efforts against NDSU. Based on the general consensus, Colorado may just have the best player in the nation on its roster.

Hunter finished the contest with seven receptions for 132 yards and three touchdowns. He also backed that up playing as a shutdown cornerback for the Buffaloes as well. The Colorado star took the internet by storm after snagging a circus catch for his third touchdown of the evening.

It's rare to see a player show out as a superstar on offense and defense. Typically, players commit to just one position by the time they reach the college level. But Hunter is proving to be a different breed of athlete. The sports world shared their reactions to Hunter's big game on X, formerly known as Twitter.

    Hunter blew LeBron James' mind!

Is Hunter the obvious No. 1 pick for the 2025 NFL Draft?

The NDSU secondary looked lost all night.

Just let Hunter do what he wants!

    Hunter for Heisman?

Deion Sanders knew it before everyone else.

Hunter looks every bit of a future NFL superstar. If he can stay healthy this season, then the Colorado star could be in the mix for the Heisman by the end of the season. Especially if he maintains this level of play throughout the year.

Injuries prevented Hunter from playing a full season last year. However, he still managed to record 57 receptions for 721 yards, and five touchdowns. He also had 30 total tackles, five pass deflections and three interceptions.

Hunter is currently in his junior year and is eligible to enter next year's NFL Draft if he chooses to do so. We should expect to see Hunter featured throughout this season as Colorado aims to prove the doubters wrong now that they're in the Big 12.
