After a five-touchdown first half and Utah sporting a 35-0 halftime lead, Cameron Rising hit the bench, making way for four-star true freshman Isaac Wilson. Wilson has had some ups and downs in his debut for the team, including two interceptions.

However, he also threw the first touchdown of his collegiate career, a 20-yard pass to tight end Caleb Lohner. A former basketball player at Baylor and BYU, Lohner was a graduate transfer to the Utes earlier this offseason. He brings a massive frame at 6'8", 235 lbs.

According to 247Sports , Wilson was the 21st-ranked quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class. His brother Zach Wilson played quarterback at BYU and was a first-round pick of the New York Jets in 2021. He's currently on the Denver Broncos' roster.

While Isaac Wilson will want to have those two interceptions back, he's earning valuable playing time early in his career. He'll be able to learn a ton from Cam Rising this fall, who is playing in his seventh college football season.

Rising missed last season with a brutal knee injury, and Utes fans are thrilled to have him back in total health. Wilson is the only other quarterback on the depth chart, so he'll need to stay ready in case he's called upon later in the season.
