Deion Sanders' Immediate Reaction to Colorado's Close Win vs. FCS Team

Deion Sanders nearly cursed and was quite relieved as he spoke to reporters when walking off Folsom Field following Colorado's 31-26 season-opening victory over North Dakota State.

The previous statement wouldn't be true if not for the work of two-way superstar Travis Hunter, who was impactful at cornerback and wide receiver Thursday, but made all the big offensive plays when it mattered.

He broke off a 41-yard screen for a touchdown on the team's first drive, then high-pointed the ball for another impressive TD catch later on, before bringing the win home with an unreal grab in the corner of the end zone with a defender draped all over him. Extraordinarily impressive stuff:

After the game, when asked about the hero in black and gold for the night, Sanders spoke glowingly of both his star players.

"Oh, Travis, that's who he is," said Sanders. "I get the chance to see that every practice, every day. He don't take days off unless we force him to. But that's just who he is."

In fact, Sanders was thrilled with the performance of each phase of the offense against NDSU.

"The whole receiving corps, the offensive line did a great job protecting our quarterback, and our quarterback was excellent," he added.

That quarterback, his son Shedeur Sanders, eclipsed 400 yards with 445 and four touchdowns with the one bizarre interception off the Bison player's calf.
