The Boston Red Sox (69-65) continue to teeter between contention for a Wild Card spot and gearing up for next season. With a very tough September schedule, gearing up for next season may be their best bet.

The good news for the Red Sox is that they have a strong farm system with multiple prospects that could potentially make an impact as early as next season. But how have those prospects performed over the last week? To find out, let's take a trip down on the farm.

    (Rankings per MLB Pipeline )

Marcelo Mayer (#1 Prospect; #4 in MLB)

Mayer was shut down for the remainder of the season with a lumbar strain. He never made it onto the field for the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox after being promoted on August 11th. Injuries have plagued Mayer throughout his professional career thus far, and the Red Sox are hopeful that 2025 will change that.

Roman Anthony (#2 Prospect; #13 in MLB)

Another update, another week of Anthony doing nothing but raking. Playing in five games over the last week, Anthony went 9-for-22 with four extra-base hits and four RBI. He is now batting .362/.431/.621 with eight extra-base hits and nine RBI through 58 at-bats across 14 games since being promoted to Triple-A.

Kyle Teel (#3 Prospect; #26 in MLB)

Teel has still struggled to find his footing since being promoted to Triple-A alongside Anthony and Mayer but may be turning things around if his last three games are any indication. Teel played in five games over the last week, going 3-for-19 with one extra-base hit and five RBI. He went 3-for-11 over his last three with a double.

MLB Pipeline ranked Teel as the third-best catching prospect in baseball with their mid-season shake-up.

Braden Montgomery (#4 Prospect; #58 in MLB)

Montgomery will not participate in any games after breaking his right ankle in the NCAA Super Regionals. Despite this, the Red Sox are excited about what Montgomery can provide them in the future.

Kristian Campbell (#5 Prospect; #78 in MLB)

Campbell has not skipped a beat since being promoted to Triple-A late last week. Playing in five games over the last week, Campbell went 6-for-21 with three home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base. Campbell also drew four walks to just two strikeouts.

In a small Triple-A sample size, Campbell is batting .345/.441/.690 with four extra-base hits, 12 RBI, two stolen bases, five walks, and four strikeouts.
