'Worst Trade, Worst Contract!' Analyst Reveals Shocking Take on Deshaun Watson, Browns' Season

It's a pivotal year for the Cleveland Browns in more ways than one.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson is *finally* presumably healthy and ready to play a full season, and Browns general manager Andrew Berry has put together a nice team around him.

There can be no more excuses as Watson and the Browns enter the third season of their marriage, and the only acceptable outcome is a deep playoff run. Since Watson arrived in Cleveland by virtue of a trade that shocked the football world in 2021, he's played a total of six of a possible 35 games including playoffs.

And that's not good enough to justify his pricetag and the draft capital that the Browns gave up to get him. Watson came to Cleveland in exchange for three first-round picks, a third-round pick and two fourth-round picks.

And it's because of the deal itself, that Fox Sports' Nick Wright called the trade and subsequent contract "the worst ever in the NFL."

"I think at some point, they have to admit that's the worst trade and worst contract in NFL history," Wright said on First Things First . "It is a sunk cost, you have to try to pull yourself out."

Wright picked the Browns to finish third in the AFC North, which may be the league's most competitive division.

Watson is such a wild card that any prediction is just nonsense. His health is the biggest variable on the team by far, and will most likely dictate the success or failure of the team.

That makes it hard to argue with Wright's claim. The best thing Watson can do? Go out and prove him wrong.
