Colorado secured its first victory of the 2024 college football season on Thursday with a 31-26 win over the North Dakota State Bison. Head coach Deion Sanders is now 2-0 in season openers with the Colorado Buffaloes. Thursday's win marked Colorado's first victory since defeating Arizona State on Oct. 7, 2023.

Sanders has been a polarizing figure since his playing days, which has continued in his time as a head coach. In his postgame interview , he acknowledged that many people wanted to see the Buffaloes lose on Thursday, but now they'll have to wait another week.

"Some of you [are] upset that we got the W; some of you really mad we didn’t get the L,” Sanders said. “So God bless y’all, you’ll have to wait again till next week.”

Sanders also said that although Colorado won, it didn't feel like a win. He pointed out the Bison's final touchdown really "bothered" him. Sanders concluded by saying he's happy they got the win.

Colorado's next game will be on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Buffaloes had a strong win against the Cornhuskers last season, with a score of 36-14. However, the Cornhuskers are currently favored by seven points for the upcoming game. The game will be held at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NBC.
