The New York Giants appear to be a team unsure of themselves going into the start of the 2024 regular season.

After an offseason full of additions, the secondary remains a sore spot for Big Blue.

On one hand, general manager Joe Schoen said this week that the team "felt good" about where they were with their second cornerback spot. Just a couple of days after, though, the team worked out a multitude of players at the position.

Cornerbacks D.J. James, Zech McPhearson, Damarion Williams, and Kyu Blu Kelly all worked out for the Giants Thursday as New York tries to bolster its secondary and special teams rooms. Safety Al Blades Jr. also took part in a workout.

McPhearson is the vested veteran of the group as he saw action in over 30 games with the Philadelphia Eagles. While he never saw consistent starts, McPhearson is a strong special teams player and is still just 26 years old.

So which is it? Do the Giants feel supremely comfortable enough with their current cornerback room, or is it still a work in progress that the team is trying out a multitude of players from different backgrounds?

Churning out contributors at the bottom of the roster is nothing new, but for fans hoping for continuity in the back end, there's a reason to monitor the Giants actions ahead of Week 1.
