Micah vs. Tyreek vs. Olympic Sprinter Noah Lyles?

FRISCO — Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill poses alarming speed for NFL defenses. In coverage or with the ball in the open field, he has become one of the most difficult players to handle across the league.

Given that ability, there comes a heightened belief in his ability. That has translated in his desire to challenge Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles in a 50-yard dash.

An Olympic gold medalist in Paris this summer, accepted that callout. While the exchanges appear nothing more than smack talk, the jawing has stirred debate about the hypothetical race.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons weighed in this week, but he did not take the side of his NFL colleague. Instead, he took a strong opinion on the side of the Olympian.

“Listen, Tyreek is fast, fast,” Parsons said on his podcast, " The Edge with Micah Parsons ."

“But he ain’t want none of Noah. Listen, I only know Noah through social media, I don’t agree with the stuff he's saying, he does sound a little corny sometimes, but man that boy’s fast. Tyreek don’t want none of that. Tyreek: stay away from that, bro. That man is a professional runner.”

Lyles has ruffled feathers in the landscape of American professional sports with his past comments about the label of "world champion" in regard to the NBA Finals winner.

Players within the NBA ranks harbored negative reactions to those thoughts, and it seems some of those feelings of disrespect triggered reaction among NFL camps.

While the two have exchanged blows, they could potentially be "teammates" in the coming years if Lyles returns to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and Hill earns a spot on the Team USA flag football team. The sport is set for its debut at the next Olympics and NFL players have shown their interest in participating.

Regardless, Lyles and Hill are both incredible athletes in their own right.
