The 2024 football season is officially underway for the Big 12 favorite Utah Utes and they didn't disappoint in their highly anticipated return to the gridiron. The Utes led by veterans Cam Rising and Brant Kuithe were on fire in the first half, breaking personal, school, and even conference records en route to a 49-0 victory.

Rising led the team in passing, going 10-15 for 254 yards and 5 touchdowns, making history in the process, while Isaac Wilson enjoyed the bulk of the second-half snaps, going 7-11 for 74 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions.

Dijon Stanley led the team in rushing and receiving, going 6 for 34 yards on the ground while tallying 150 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on 3 receptions with a long of 79 yards.

Brant Kuithe also etched his name in the history books raking in 4 catches for 69 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first half.

Sadly, transfer CB Kenan Johnson went down injured near the start of the second quarter which serves as a massive blow to a position group that is already thin, but the next man up Elijah Davis snagged an interception which is a positive sign moving into next week.

Overall, despite some mistakes, the Utes have started the 2024 campaign on the right foot and will look to further that momentum into next weekend when they square off against the Baylor Bears on September 7th.
