Stanford Names Team Captains for Week 1 Game Against TCU

Stanford kicks off its season on Friday night with a home game against TCU, and the Cardinal has made a crucial announcement as we gear up for kickoff. The team's captains for Week 1 are quarterback Ashton Daniels and linebackers Ese Dubre and Tristan Sinclair.

Daniels, a junior quarterback out of Buford, Georgia, and former three-star recruit is coming off a solid sophomore campaign. He finished last season with 2,247 passing yards and 11 touchdowns to eight interceptions. Daniels also added 110 carries for 296 yards and three touchdowns.

Tristan Sinclair ranked second on the team last year with 71 tackles, including five TFLs. He's back in Palo Alto for his sixth season. Ese Dubre has much less experience, finishing with just four total tackles on ten snaps last season, but he's a crucial special teams player.

The Cardinal hopes to pull off an upset to kick off its season on Friday night against TCU, and it will need a big showing from its three team captains to secure the home victory. Tune in tonight at 7:30 PM PST for Stanford's opening game of the season.
